The pictures in this image data bank are arranged according to topics. You find further image groups below these general terms. Click the link under the main image or on the image itself to view the contents of the respective image group.
You can navigate whilst in the detailed view of an image, with the previous image and/or next image link. Alternatively you are able to navigate by moving the mouse pointer over the middle of the image and a navigation arrow appears. Another possibility is the start of an automatic slide show which you also find in the detailed view of an image.
Search according to motives
You can search for a specific subject within the image data bank. You can enter a word in the text field of the upper right hand part of the screen, which is then searched for in the entire database.
You find a more differentiated form of search via the extended search. You can search for different criteria or also indicate the desired search format (vertical or horizontal format). Please note that the specification vertical and/or horizontal format is only applied to the keyword which you entered into the text field.
In addition, the form for the extended search contains a
Listing of all the assigned keywords up to now. The results of your search are shown to you as an image group, where you are able to print them , for example via the function arc of contact.
Registration for the press
The images in our image data bank are available and free of charge when reporting on and about the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.
Please inform us about how you intend to use or employ the image material. We will gladly process your inquiry and send you the necessary login details. In addition, you are able to license images for other purposes: Please contact the FOX photo agency if you are interested in image licensing.
Licensing of images
If you have an interest in the licensing of image material, please make use of contact form .
Image download
If you have logged into our image data bank as a journalist, a download button appears in the detailed view of the images. Click the symbol and download the image file onto your computer. Please take note that the licensed image material that you download may only be implemented in the reporting of the BAuA and not for any other purposes.
Your image selection
In the detailed view of an image or within an image group, you can place images onto the light table via the 'add image to the personal selection' function.
The selected images will be remembered as a selection during the present browser session. You are able to print an over view of the images that you have selected: Choose the function 'view image selection' in the menu on the left side and now the link 'contact form' over the image selection. The generated page that contains all images as well as important additional information such as contact info can now be printed.
Please take note that your image selection will be forgotten/expire if you end the current visit to the image data bank!
Arc of contact
Everybody has the possibility to print groups of pictures in the layout of a classical contact form. Within an image group, a search result or your personal image selection, you choose the button 'contact form ' in the upper menu: It then opens an automatically generated printing view of the available Image group.
This function is very useful if you want to take an image survey with you into a meeting where there is no internet access.
Image inquiries
If you have a particular question for a specific motive, you should use the corresponding contact form. You find it in the detailed view of every image on the right side below 'image inquiry '.
Print image information
If you are interested in an image and have chosen the detailed print view, an automatically generated information screen is shown which contains the picture as well as important additional information such as contact particulars.
Print documents
On every contents page of the image data bank, you find a printer symbol at the lower end. Clicking on the link will automatically open a print view of your choice which you can then print.
Customize
You can adapt the character size to your viewing preferences. Please, use the signs at the upper right edge of the image for that purpose.
Browser compatibility
The internet pages can be viewed with all modern internet browsers.
In the case of older browser versions, there can be graphic deviations in the display of the web page. In particular the Netscape 4 versions do not support Cascading Style sheets and therefore you will only see a "text version" of our offer.
